West of Everything IV
Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?
Part of the West of Everything collection
At first glance, the piece feels familiar — cowboys gathered around a fire beneath an endless western sky. But looking closer, the figures themselves are missing. No faces. No bodies. Only the hats, clothing, posture, and presence remain.
The absence is intentional.
Where Have All the Cowboys Gone? reflects on the fading spirit of a generation once defined by grit, resilience, loyalty, and quiet strength. It is less about literal cowboys and more about what they represented — men who carried hardship differently, who spoke less and endured more.
The fire becomes the soul of the piece: warmth, memory, brotherhood, and the final ember of a disappearing era.
As the West of Everything collection continues, the cowboy evolves beyond a person into something symbolic — a fading echo of freedom, identity, and the American spirit itself.
